Mini 65cc

The mini 65cc class had Mitchell McConnell, #33 burning up the track taking the win in both motos.  Jordan Schiller, #66 and Tyler Lowe, #110, were also light'n up the track.  Tyler Lowe snagged the holeshot in moto two but  Mitchell McConnell quickly took the lead.  Then, Jordan Schiller was tailing Tyler Lowe.  Lowe held him off until the rhythm section where Schiller made the pass taking second in both motos.  Tyler Lowe took third in both motos.

85cc Senior

This smoking fast class had John Maillette, #316, Bryce Backaus, #497, Brandon Clifford, #816 and Cody Fredrick, #305 mixing it up.  John Maillette grabbed the holeshot in moto one and took off.  Bryce Backaus was his shadow until he made his pass on Maillette.  Then it was Backaus, Maillette, Brandon Clifford and Cody Fredrick.  Backaus was trying to get past some lap traffic so he took the inside line under the water tank and slid out.  Maillette slipped past him and was now back in first with Clifford in second.  Backaus got back up and running and was now in third. Maillette took the win, Clifford second, and Backaus third.

In moto two, Brandon Clifford was first to the holeshot turn and was on fire!  Maillette was second and Backaus third.  Backaus made his move on Maillette in the turn after the whoops.  Then, Backaus went gunning for Clifford.  In the end, Clifford took the win in this moto, Backaus second and Maillette third.

Meanwhile Cody Fredrick's #305 Honda put in for early retirement with a blown engine while Fredrick was running in the pack of riders at the back woods section of the track.  With a crash over the handle bars and a blown engine, Fredrick must have been in a state of frustration and disappointment but he's never DNF'd (Did Not Finish) a race and wasn't going to start now.  So, what did he do?  Fredrick decided to push his broken bike all the way around the track to the finish line in order to finish the race and avoid a DNF in the second moto.

Cody displayed a "Never Give Up" attitude and we love that here at Kids In Xtreme Sports. So, with that, Cody Fredrick wins the Kids In Xtreme Sports Heart and Spirit Award!  Great job, Cody!   ("So, what's he gonna get?", some of you may be wondering.  "Money?"  "Stickers?"  "A t-shirt?"  Nope.  Sorry.  Cody already received his award.  An "A" in "Character 101" and that's something that will last a lifetime.)

More race coverage to come......
