Race Blog

65cc

Mitchell McConnell, #33 on red hot KTM was a dominant force in the 65cc class taking the holeshot and win in both motos.  McConnell shot out front and never looked back!  In moto one, Bret Holland, #157 rode a solid second with Keegan Cummins, #180 Kendra Randrup, #89 and Cody Graham, #145 behind him.  Cody Graham was one determined racer as he put the heat on Kendra Randrup until he made a pass.  Then he set his sights on Keegan Cummins.  Graham did get past Cummins taking third in the first moto behind Holland.

In moto two, Mitchell McConnell hit the track and checked out!  This time Keegan Cummins rode in second place, Cody Graham in third and Kendra Randrup in fourth.  The final results in this class were:  Mitchell McConnell, 1st, Cody Graham, 2nd, Keegan Cummins, 3rd, Kendra Randrup, 4th and Alex Mooney, 5th.  Congrats guys, you all do a great job!

MX Lites A

Matthew Menzer, #92 and Dylan Koth, #109 gave us a great show on Sunday.  These boys love to race and are not afraid to show each other the wheel. They're smoking fast and hit turns and jumps together so they keep you on edge the whole moto!  In moto one, Matthew Menzer and Dylan Koth hit the holeshot turn hot but Menzer jumped ahead.  Koth shadowed him through the moto and went for a pass in the "S turn" before the rythum section but crashed out.  When the medics carried him off the track I thought Koth was done for the day, but thankfully, his knee injury didn't keep him down, because he was back in full force for the second moto.  Meanwhile, Keven Bills, #99 and Andrew Lieders, #857 were ripping it up behind the leaders.

In moto two, Menzer grabbed the holeshot and the lead.  Koth closed the gap and was on his tail on lap 5.  Koth took the win in the last turn.  The final results in this class were, Matthew Menzer, 1st, Dylan Koth, 2nd, Kevin Bills, 3rd and Andrew Lieders, 4th.

MX Lites B

There's a lot of talent in this class.  I have to send out a big congrats to Brennen Marshall who made his debut in the "B" class at Arkansaw on Sunday.  Brennen was racing in the "C" class but says he wants to keep getting better, so he raced in the "B" class on Sunday.  He had an awesome race in the MX Lites B finishing 3rd overall and a great race in the Sportsman B/C class with a 4th overall.

Jesse Koth, #204 is the man to beat in this class.  He took the holeshot and the win in both motos.  In the first moto, Cody Fredrick, #305 was in second behind Koth followed by Jake Burbach, #47, Colton Karl, #170 and Brennen Marshall, #59.   Colton Karl and Brennen Marshall turned the heat on making the pass on Fredrick.  Then Karl went gunning for Burbach.  Burbach rode a great race and at the finish line turn, Karl tried to make the move on Burbach but went down.  Koth took the win, Burbach second, and Marshall third in this moto.

In the second moto, Koth was out front again.  Brennen Marshall was in second, Colton Karl in third and Cody Fredrick in fourth.  Jake Burbach slid out in the holeshot turn but he was back up and running quickly.  However, with some time lost, he was a man on a mission to move up the pack.  Meanwhile, Marshall was holding off Colton Karl who was riding in third and Burbach was closing the gap and gunning for Fredrick.  Burbach made the pass on Fredrick in the whoops and Karl made the pass on Marshall in the holeshot turn.  It was some great racing!  The final results for this class were:  Jesse Koth, 1st, Colton Karl, 2nd, Brennen Marshall, 3rd, Jake Burbach, 4th and Cody Fredrick 5th.

MX Lites C

Steven Hering, #30 was the holeshot winner in this class and the rider out front.  John Weir, #671, Cody Sikorski, #322, Andy Drueger, #111 and Tanner Anderson, #317 were behind Hering.  Tanner Anderson started moving his way up through the pack and ended up taking second in this moto.  Great riding, Tanner!

In moto two, Hering was out front out of the holeshot followed by Anderson, Weir and Drueger.  The final results in this class were:  Steven Hering, 1st, Tanner Anderson, 2nd, John Weir, 3rd.   Comments >>

GIVE US YOUR OPINION: ON KNEE BRACE PROTECTION By Team-Kixsquest | Fri Sep 26, 2008 at 05:47:38 AM EST by Mary Maillette

Protective gear in racing motocross is extremely important.  Up until now, we've used basic knee pads.  However, we realize that protecting the knee against serious injury in a crash is a priority.

I know many of you use a knee brace and I would love some feedback on what kind you use, why you chose it and if it has worked for you.  I think this is a topic that many of the members and visitors to Kids In Xtreme Sports would find helpful.

Quote of the Day By Team-Kixsquest | Wed Sep 17, 2008 at 12:24:20 PM EST Give yourself fully to God.  He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness.     ---Mother Theresa Comments >>
